AI voice and advertising: a revolution, but not without experts!

Computer-generated or AI voices are becoming increasingly popular, particularly in advertising. Indeed, advanced voice generation technologies make some AI voice generation platforms, such as ElevenLabs and Murf, attractive through the realism of the voices they offer and the personalisation features available.

While computer-generated voices appear to be a quick and effective solution for digital advertising, they should not be created without the help of experts. It should be borne in mind that they are no match for human voices, which remain irreplaceable when it comes to television advertising.

Despite technological advances, the voices generated can sometimes lack the emotions or nuances that a human voice actor naturally brings to the table. This can detract from the authenticity of the message, especially in campaigns that require a strong emotional connection with the audience. Moreover, not all the languages available are created equal. That is why we always recommend working with our experts and native linguists, who will listen to the recordings again to check correct pronunciation in the target language, fluency and intonation.

As far as intonation is concerned, although the synthesised voices can be customised, they can still sound artificial or mechanical, and although they do exist, the options for adjusting and correcting certain aspects of the voices produced remain limited and, for the moment, give random results. So we’re here to help you choose the projects and languages you want to synthesise, and offer you tests and castings of AI voices carefully selected to produce the best results.

Finally, reliance on AI voice generation tools still raises questions about intellectual property and the rights to use synthesised voices. Companies must ensure that the voices generated comply with intellectual property laws and regulations. Otherwise they may risk legal complications. Here too, we can help you ask the right questions and offer advice.

Today, computer-generated voices represent a fast and cost-effective alternative for digital advertising, an alternative whose effectiveness can be guaranteed thanks to the intervention of our AI and linguistic specialists, guaranteeing a better quality of rendition. That being said, AI voice generation platforms are bound to improve and offer increasingly sophisticated voice panels and adjustment options, which will still require human intervention upstream and downstream, but which will allow you to extend the use of AI voices to other projects.
